Passport Validity for Travel

A passports validity for travel varies by country, but for many, you must have at least six months left on your passport from the date of entry into the country. To help I have created a list of the common entry requirements below.

Please check how long you have left on your passport. I don’t want anyone miss out on their travels, especially as insurance companies do not cover expired passports.

Passport 6 months rule

Many have heard of the passport 6 months rule, this is because this is the typical requirement. This is also going to be the requirement for British travelers traveling to EU countries after Brexit. However, don’t just take this as a given, check below. Also, if you are planning to stay longer than the 6 months then you will need to renew your passport. You need a valid passport for the duration of your stay and in the case of South Africa you need at least 30 days left after your exit date.
